The Destructive Nature Of Judgment
This is a very powerful video on people’s experiences of being judged, specifically within the church space. I have felt some of these statements myself and have seen them in other people’s lives. Not trying to be funny but I really loved the story of the guy who stole the Jesus statue for his grandmother. Its sad that a little …
The Reality Of Hell
[Note: The above video contains graphic violence.] Sometimes I wonder if our fear of hell in the afterlife is keeping us from seeing the reality of hell in this life. Some of you may know that I spent some time working in Hollywood. I wanted to be a screenwriter after growing up watching movies. I was captivated by the storytelling …
Are Mission Trips Worth It
So a construction friend asked, “Wouldn’t it stimulate the economy better by sending our mission trip $$ and have locals build houses?” The idea being that mission groups commonly go to orphanages, and villages to build stuff. We don’t change much do we. We’re still searching for meaning. Meaning appears to inform our humanity about who we are. It gives us reason …
Growtivation – How Megachurches Roll
I love satire, especially when its self-deprecating. Some of the points this video makes are so hilariously rich. And its also important to know that it was produced by one of the largest megachurches in America, Northpoint. Well done. (ht)
The Rationale Of Politics
This is a remarkably insightful short video on politics. It suggests people are more likely to vote for what they already know even if it sucks because its a known quantity. But it also takes a dig at politics in general. My favorite line is: “Just remember the most important thing we stand for is reelection.”
Would Jesus Drop A Bomb?
I love Greg Boy and Tony Campolo. Some classic lines in this one.
