Looking For Her Dignity

This video struck me in a rather profound way.  What happens when we look beyond the victim and begin to see the person that is present.  Its a short video of an Afghan women who was tortured by her community.  Her scars are right on the front of her face.  But the photographer looks deeper than that.  The woman ended up on the cover of Time Magazine.

    It's tragic that the truth of that perspective of dignity and the ability of the photographer to capture and see it, is right away derailed by the headline beside it: “What happens if we leave Afghanistan”.
