I think one of the largest shifts I have made is away from the marriage of politics and religion. Maybe the framers of America knew what they were doing. ;-P As I take the risk to follow Jesus I can see how politics can so easily co-opt the religious system, or vice versa. In a former life I would have used God to justify just about anything. And to justify killing just irks me now.
