The Value of Being Missional

A friend of mine asked me why I was “missional”, with just a hint of sarcasm. I didn’t take the bait but it got me thinking about the value of being missional. “What do I get?” My journey into being missional has opened my world up to something beautiful.
- And the reality is that I “get to” connect to something bigger than myself.
- I get to see Jesus in the poor and the oppressed.
- I get to connect to my true purpose and to love.
- I get to touch the savior by extending myself into the places that I would otherwise avoid.
- I get to find the best in others by looking for their dignity.
- I get to participate in what God is doing in this world, bringing love to the brokenness.
- I get to have my world energized by practicing love.
- I get to see a bigger story.
- I get to experience the fullness of my heart that comes from empathizing with someones pain.
- I get to practice in His mercy for those who are oppressed.
- I get to take a stand against the enemy and fight a valiant fight.
- I get to discover how much my Heavenly Father loves me.
- I get to tell others how much God loves them.
- I get to see a creation that is worth restoring.
So my question is, “What do you get by being missional?”
